eclecTechs Under New Management

NORTHAMPTON – Victoria A. White has announced that her Northampton-based Internet services business, eclecTechs, will be managed by Internet pioneer David Flaherty, owner of Springfield-based Ashton Services effective immediately. eclecTechs will retain its name, staff, services, and product line.

"I first met Dave in 1996. Since that time our business models have been close with respect to how we treat our staffs and service our customers. Dave is a good man. His leadership, vision, business acumen, and technical expertise will bring a broad diversity of skills to our staff and customer base," White said.

eclecTechs has been serving 1,300 Internet hosting and connectivity customers, 600 web design and development customers, and hundreds of others with computer repair, business computer networks, spyware and spam removal, custom software development, and database work since 1994 when eclecTechs was founded in White's Sunderland home. The business became part of the Northampton business scene when it moved to Hawley Street in 1995. It moved to Market Street in 1999, and to its current location on State Street in 2005.

A leading technology services provider, Ashton Services has built hundreds of websites and software solutions for over a decade, and offers a variety of consulting, design, development, integration, hosting, and support services. The company’s proprietary web-based content management system is used by hundreds of businesses and organizations throughout North America. The company was recently awarded a coveted Commonwealth of Massachusetts Master Services Agreement that has pre-approved them to perform IT services for any state and/or municipal agency.

"Victoria's a wonderful person who truly cares for her employees and clients. I am honored that she has entrusted me with them," Flaherty said. "We are excited about now being able to deliver high-quality high-impact solutions in a timely manner from two locations in Western Massachusetts."

An active member of the Northampton business community, White has also worked with dozens of non-profit organizations, been active in the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce, and chaired the Franklin Hampshire Regional Employment Board Youth Council. She and Cisco, SpokesDog, will continue to operate DogHampton, the dog day care and entertainment business she founded in 2005.
